In commemoration of its 900th anniversary, the Stift Herzogenburg Monastery in Lower Austria commissioned us to redesign their permanent exhibition space. The challenge was to present the artwork in a contemporary way without interfering with the new renovated baroque ambience of the monastery itself.

Inspired by the architectural design of a Ciborium (a canopy-like structure build over the altar of a Christian church), we created a modern art depot. A steel construction was set up in which the art collection is permanently preserved. During a tour through the exhibition the guide makes the collection visible by moving the sliding doors.
